Arsenal have completed the £9m signing of Christian Norgaard from Brentford, with add-ons taking the deal to potentially £12m.
The Danish midfielder has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third, adding valuable Premier League experience and grit to Mikel Arteta’s side following the departures of Jorginho and Thomas Partey.

Norgaard has quietly been one of the league’s most consistent performers since arriving at Brentford in 2019 a midfield general who combines tactical discipline, physical presence, and a sharp reading of the game.
With Martin Zubimendi also through the door, Arsenal are rebuilding their midfield with intelligence and intent.
Sporting Director Andrea Berta described Norgaard as “a leader,” while Arteta praised his “tactical awareness and versatility” exactly the profile Arsenal lacked in those big away matches last season.

The focus now shifts to Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, who scored the winner in the FA Cup final and has emerged as a top target.
Arsenal have held initial talks with his camp and are preparing to speak directly with Palace’s chairman Steve Parish. Eze has a £67.5m release clause and two years left on his deal it won’t be easy, but Arsenal are serious. Adding extra intrigue: Eze was once released by the Gunners at 13.

Meanwhile, discussions continue around moves for Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke, as transfer activity ramps up across the Premier League.
On the academy front, Arsenal are increasingly confident of tying down Ethan Nwaneri to a new deal amid strong interest from Chelsea and Germany.
The Hale End talent, still just 18, looks set to be part of the club’s long-term vision.
It’s early July, but Arsenal’s engine room is already shifting into gear.
