Isak vs Newcastle: The Point of No Return

Alexander Isak has set St. James’ Park on fire and not in the way we hoped. After his late-night Instagram bombshell declaring his relationship with Newcastle “over,” the club hit back, saying no promises were broken and insisting he’s staying put. But let’s be real: can you really force a player to give his all if his heart’s already elsewhere?

Eddie Howe’s system is brutal high-press, high-intensity, zero passengers. If Isak isn’t fully locked in, Newcastle suffer.

He already skipped the pre-season tour, morale has dipped, and fans are fuming, chanting about “one greedy bastard.” Howe knows you can’t build a Champions League campaign around a sulking star.

Liverpool are lurking. They haven’t signed another striker, and every week Isak’s price tag drops. Newcastle want £150m, but let’s not kid ourselves if he’s still pouting come January, they’ll be lucky to get close.

Meanwhile, the Toon are chasing Brentford’s Yoane Wissa. He bagged 19 PL goals last season none from penalties and can also play wide. Newcastle offered £40m, Brentford want £60m. A bit rich when you’re demanding £150m for Isak, eh?

Bottom line: this saga screams of an inevitable Liverpool move before deadline day. If Newcastle land Wissa plus one of Jorgen Strand Larsen or Gonçalo Ramos, the mood around Tyneside flips overnight.

Isak might be brilliant, but no player is bigger than the club and Howe’s dressing room will be far better off without him sulking in the corner.
