Harry Maguire has made it clear he’s loving life at Manchester United and is ready to extend his journey at Old Trafford. With his current deal running out next summer, the skipper-turned-veteran has dropped a huge hint that he’s keen to sign on again.
Speaking at the United Foundation Camp in Stretford, Maguire said:
“It’s an amazing club to play for. You’d be silly to jump out of it. Conversations will happen soon, but I know what I want.”
That’s the mentality of a leader! Despite starting on the bench in United’s opening-day loss to Arsenal, Maguire knows competition is fierce with Matthijs de Ligt and others pushing for spots.
And he welcomes it. He’s proven his quality for both club and country, and his hunger hasn’t faded one bit.
Since his £80m move from Leicester back in 2019, United has gone through massive changes from top to bottom.
Maguire praised the new structure under Jason Wilcox and manager Ruben Amorim, saying the club feels in a much better place now.
“I feel like I’ve been playing really well again for this club,” he added. And you can see it sharper, hungrier, and ready to fight.
Meanwhile, United have also secured a big off-pitch signing: Stephen Torpey joins as the new academy director, arriving from Brentford to keep United’s famous youth tradition alive.
United fans, take note Maguire isn’t done yet. He wants to be part of this new era, and his experience could be absolutely vital.
Imagine the scenes if he lifts silverware in the coming years after sticking through the highs and lows.
