Mohamed Salah has once again proven why he’s not just a Liverpool legend on the pitch, but also a true leader off it. The Egyptian King called out a popular fan account on X for mocking Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez after their departures this summer.
The account posted a comparison between Diaz/Nunez and new arrivals Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, branding the latter duo a “bigger upgrade in footballing history.” Salah wasn’t having it. His reply was sharp, classy, and full of respect: “How about we celebrate the great signings without disrespecting the PL champions?”

And he’s absolutely spot on. Diaz was instrumental in our 20th league title, racking up 13 goals and 7 assists in 36 games. Nunez, though inconsistent, still ran himself into the ground for the shirt, bagging 5 goals and always pressing like a madman. These two gave everything for the badge disrespecting them is just wrong.

Yes, Liverpool broke the bank this summer £116m for Wirtz and a British record £125m for Isak. Huge upgrades on paper, but let’s not forget who helped deliver the title. Legends in their own right.
The fan page quickly apologised, but Salah’s response is what stole the headlines. Once again, he’s shown he’s more than just goals and assists he’s the heartbeat of this club.
From defending teammates to calling out UEFA over their treatment of the late “Palestinian Pele,” Salah continues to be a voice of integrity in football. A king on and off the pitch.
A Red who’ll never forget Diaz and Nunez.
