Rasmus Hojlund isn’t backing down. Despite Manchester United’s push to sign a new striker, the Danish forward has made it clear: he’s here to stay and fight.
“I’m ready. I’m sharp. Let’s go,” said Hojlund after netting in United’s 4-1 thumping of Bournemouth in Chicago. The 21-year-old opened the scoring in a commanding performance, as Patrick Dorgu, Amad Diallo, and Ethan Williams added to the tally. Matthijs de Ligt’s unlucky own goal was the only blot on an otherwise dominant display.
Yet, United boss Ruben Amorim wasn’t making any promises. “I’m really happy with Rasmus… but I don’t know what’s going to happen until the market closes,” he admitted.

It’s no secret United are hunting firepower after finishing a miserable 15th with just 44 goals last season. Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins top the list, but nothing’s done yet.
Let’s talk Dorgu what a baller. The £25m left-back looks like a future star. One assist, one goal, and the swagger of someone who’s been at Old Trafford for years. At just 20, he’s making serious waves.
Amorim was buzzing with the youth performances too, especially Williams. “I celebrated that goal,” he said. “It’s special when the kids make it count.”
Matheus Cunha sat out with fatigue, Mbeumo is set to debut vs Everton, and Maguire’s still being eased back in. But the vibes? Totally different. United look hungry. Cohesive. Alive.
It’s only pre-season, but there’s a spark here. Amorim’s imprint is showing. The same players, a different team. If this momentum carries into the season, fans might just dare to dream again.
Let’s see who stays, who goes but one thing’s certain: Hojlund isn’t done yet.
