Liverpool’s Title Within Reach – What a Time to Be Red!

Trent Alexander-Arnold, with his weaker left foot no less, may have just given Liverpool their 20th league title. A thunderbolt at Leicester sealed a 1-0 win and put the Reds on the brink of Premier League glory. That was his first ever left-footed goal out of 23 – and what a moment to pick it.

After the final whistle, Virgil van Dijk, the ever-composed captain, gave Trent his flowers – literally pushing him towards the away end to soak in the love. Was it a farewell? Maybe. Trent’s heavily linked with Real Madrid this summer, but on that night, he was all Liverpool.

Van Dijk didn’t shy away from addressing the noise around Trent either: “We forget he’s human… he deserved that moment.” No pressure from the skipper on whether Trent stays or goes. Just respect. That’s class.

And speaking of class Arne Slot. What a job he’s done in his first season. No pre-season. No major signings. Yet here we are, 13 points clear. Van Dijk praised him big time: “He’s taken us to the next level.” And he’s not wrong – this team has found its rhythm, its consistency, its fight.

Now, eyes on Wednesday. If Arsenal drop points against Palace, Liverpool are champions. If not, it’s all set for an Anfield party against Spurs on Sunday.

Whatever happens, this team is back. Hungry, united, relentless.
