Ten Hag Aims High for Manchester United’s Next Season

Erik ten Hag has raised his expectations for Manchester United’s 2018-19 campaign by emphasizing their need to “raise the bar.” Despite securing a Champions League berth and ending their trophy drought with last season’s Carabao Cup triumph, Ten Hag understands that maintaining consistent and high levels of performance are necessary if their objectives are to be realized.

Ten Hag has expressed his wish for his team to perform at an elite level consistently and outshone any club in the world. While winning titles is ultimately his goal, Ten Hag noted that progress may not always translate to immediate results and trophies.

Ten Hag has already made some significant moves this transfer window, signing midfielder Mason Mount and goalkeeper Andre Onana respectively. However, his focus remains on signing an elite center-forward with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund considered among their prime options.

Ten Hag was also asked to comment on Mason Greenwood, who’s future with the club is dependent on an internal inquiry. While ultimately making this decision is up to each club, Ten Hag expressed his support for Greenwood in spite of what might come of his future involvement with them.

As for the ongoing potential sale of the club, which has been going on for eight months now, Ten Hag plans to discuss this matter with Glazers (American owners) during his summer tour in America. Although he can provide recommendations, ultimately the decision lies with the club itself.

Ten Hag recently replaced Harry Maguire as captain with Bruno Fernandes, hailing him for being a great source of motivation and leading by example as well as always striving for improvement within his team.

Ten Hag emphasized the defender remains an integral member of his team despite changes to captaincy and any potential sales, with a demanding schedule making having at least four center-backs (Maguire included) key for team success.

Ten Hag expressed confidence in Andre Onana’s ability to manage the pressure associated with replacing David de Gea as goalkeeper, hailing him as a winner who achieved great success during their previous collaboration at Ajax.

As Manchester United fans anticipate a new season under Ten Hag’s leadership, they can anticipate an exciting ride ahead on the pitch. Supporters worldwide eagerly anticipate watching his efforts on display!
