“The moment to believe”: Pochettino is driven by Chelsea’s desire

Following Chelsea’s decisive victory over Middlesbrough to send them to the Carabao Cup final, manager Mauricio Pochettino declared that he is “desperate” to win trophies with his team.

Even though he managed Paris Saint-Germain to three championships, Pochettino has yet to win a significant award in English football.

But after Chelsea thrashed the Championship team at Stamford Bridge to overcome a 1-0 deficit in the first leg of the semi-final, he was full of confidence.

With the win, Chelsea advanced to their first final under the ownership of Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital, and it also provides manager Mauricio Pochettino a chance to win a championship in his first year.

The winner will either be Fulham or Liverpool.

“Winning a title here is my top priority,” the head coach declared. “We want to win here. We won three trophies in Paris in just 1.5 years. I want this badly to win.

It holds great significance for us. Although we have two excellent teams in Fulham and Liverpool, this is the time to have faith in our ability to prevail. It’s a crucial step.

Pochettino believes that his team’s confidence would grow if they make it to the FA Cup final, and he advised Chelsea to be prepared for Aston Villa on Friday.

“We are going to build our trust, confidence, and mentality by going to Wembley with this young team with this kind of experience,” he declared.

“We are a new team, but the club has an incredible winning attitude. We must establish trust and experience what it’s like to play in the final at Wembley.

Mykhailo Mudryk was taken off by Pochettino at halftime due to his fear that the winger will receive a second booking.

The Argentinean stated, “If you watch the game, he got a yellow card.”

“Then, toward the conclusion of the first half, he did something too reckless; we didn’t want to take a chance on him receiving a second yellow card for touching the opposition. There was no need to take a chance with him on. We altered him because of this.
