Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as both clubs look for reinforcements ahead of the transfer window deadline. Gallagher led his side to victory against Everton but now finds himself subject to fierce competition between both clubs for his signature.
Gallagher has been an impressive performer for Chelsea this season, even garnering praise from Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. However, with just two years remaining on his contract at Chelsea it appears likely that Gallagher may seek new pastures elsewhere.
Chelsea’s summer spending spree in midfield, including signings like Moisés Caicedo and Roméo Lavia, has opened the door for Gallagher’s exit. The midfielder is in no rush to leave but may be sold if the right offer comes in.
Gallagher is valued at PS50 million and his versatility and work ethic make him the ideal candidate for Spurs’ 4-3-3 system. However, their pursuit may depend on finding a buyer for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who has been considered surplus to requirements by Spurs but remains popular with Fulham, Atletico Madrid, and Manchester United among other clubs.
Fulham are currently fighting to keep hold of midfield sensation Joao Palhinha, who wants to join Bayern Munich. Fulham have set an asking price of PS80 million in order to ward off potential suitors.
Despite having a £47 million bid rejected, Bayern Munich remains persistent in their pursuit of Palhinha. The impending sale of Ryan Gravenberch to Liverpool for £34 million will provide Bayern with additional funds for the transfer.
As the transfer deadline nears, both Chelsea and Tottenham are undergoing squad overhauls, while Bayern Munich continues to be a force in the market. With numerous deals still in the balance, the final days of the transfer window promise to be full of surprises and frantic negotiations.
