The move of Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher to Atlético Madrid is estimated to cost around £34m, while João Félix is expected to cost around £42m.
The 24-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract with Atlético, ending a summer saga that forced Gallagher, who had been with Chelsea since age six, to train with the under-21 squad.

In a statement, Atlético Madrid said they had signed Conor Gallagher until 2029 from Chelsea. Chelsea then posted a social media video recalling Gallagher’s tenure at the club with the message: “Conor Gallagher has completed a permanent transfer to Atlético Madrid. Conor starts a new career, and we wish him the best.”

Gallagher, who scored 10 goals in 95 Chelsea games, wrote on Instagram: “To everyone at Chelsea, thank you for making my dreams come true. Every time I put on the shirt, it was an honor, and captaining the squad numerous times was a dream. I enjoyed every moment. These recollections are eternal.”
After six months on loan in 2023, Félix returned to Stamford Bridge after Gallagher’s departure. The 24-year-old Portugal forward has signed a seven-year contract and may play against Wolves on Sunday.
Bashir Humphreys, another player leaving Chelsea, has joined Burnley on loan for the season. The 21-year-old centre-back/left-back earned his Chelsea debut in an FA Cup match against Manchester City last January.
