Fenerbahce match: Jose Mourinho booked for weird laptop VAR complaint

A booking was issued to José Mourinho, the manager of Fenerbahce, on Sunday after he demonstrated his disapproval of a decision made by the video assistant referee (VAR) to disallow a goal.

Mourinho did this by placing a laptop in front of a television camera and presenting an image in an effort to demonstrate that the offside judgment was incorrect.

In order to demonstrate his case, the Portuguese manager, who had previously managed Manchester United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, informed the press that he believed his striker Edin Dzeko was onside. He then presented a frame from the moments leading up to the strike.

Following the 2-0 victory over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig, Mourinho stated, “For us, it’s a good goal.” He was referring to the goal. “I enjoy a competent video assistant referee.

I merely want a video assistant referee that assists the referee in making the appropriate decisions.

As a result of the allegations made by Ali Koc, the chairman of Fenerbahce, that the video assistant referees working for the Turkish Super Lig were biased against his club in April of last year, the league made the decision to engage foreign VARs for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

With 16 points from seven matches, Fenerbahce, who finished in second place the previous season, are now in second place in the table, three points behind Galatasaray, who won the championship.

Thursday is the day that Mourinho’s team travels to FC Twente to compete in the Europa League.
