With Aaron Wan-Bissaka poised to join West Ham, Manchester United is expected to finish the acquisitions of the defenders Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich for a combined fee of more than £50m.
Over the weekend, the deals for De Ligt and Mazraoui, who performed under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, were decided upon.
On Monday, both players were seen heading to United’s Carrington training ground.
United hopes they will be ready for the first game of the season against Fulham on Friday after a foot injury ruled out the new arrival Leny Yoro for three months.
They are scheduled to finish medicals before signing five-year deals. That would need for both being registered on Thursday by lunchtime.
While United will pay £13m for Mazraoui in a deal that may be valued up to £17m, De Ligt – who dropped out of favour at Bayern under Thomas Tuchel last season – is reported to cost €45m (£38.6m) plus €5m in add-ons.
The Morocco international can play both full-back positions, hence Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s arrival will enable him to finish his move to West Ham for roughly £15m.
Having joined United from Crystal Palace in 2019 for an initial £45m, the 26-year-old has one year remaining on his deal after United announced an extension this year.
